The origins of the company date back to the 30’s when Nicolas GAUTHERON had his workshop rue Paul Pechoux in VILLEURBANNE (69 France). In 1960, the activity moved Chemin d’Arras in TREVOUX (01 France). In 1972, Noel GAUTHERON has replaced his grand father and created the « Societe des Etablissements GAUTHERON Mecanique » (SEGM). In 1973, movements on the capital gave the SEGM its current structure.
After his engineer diploma (ENSAIS Strasbourg – Mecanique 1970) in 1972, N. GAUTHERON started to develop the activity. Hopefully, he has also started a diversification into new activities that are current business of the company : Chemical, Mining, Nuclear. His challenge was also to modernise the machines, which led him to make the acquision of his first CNC Milling machine in 1992. In 2005, his elder son David GAUTHERON, also engineer (Arts et Metiers Paristech – ENSAM Ai. 97) joined the company.
In 2008, David became the managing director of the company and moved the SEGM in a new building. Now settled in an industrial area, the SEGM can develop and invest in new machines. With successsive stategic development plans, SEGM is becoming a solid subcontractor for its current customers : Chemical industry, nuclear industry, special machine, pump industries …
